Something the Doctor told me at my Baby’s 12-month Immunization

I was advised not to introduce regular family food until 18 months, due to possible food allergies. Honestly, I was shocked, because we didn’t have any prior discussion about allergies before she mentioned it.

Back home, many parents start introducing babies to regular family food as early as 6 months, and it’s been that way for generations.

With my other children, I introduced regular food before 12 months and they were perfectly fine. The difference? They weren’t born in Canada.

Now I’m really curious,
Is feeding regular food at 12 months not good?
Is it Canada specific?
Have other mums here been told the same thing?

Parents, please share your experiences. When did you start feeding your babies regular food?
