No Fishing Licence Needed in Ontario During Canada Day Week! 🇨🇦
Great news for fishing lovers and anyone looking for a fun outdoor activity!
The Ontario government is offering free recreational fishing from June 27 to July 5, allowing residents and visitors to fish across the province without purchasing a fishing licence.
According to Ontario’s Minister of Natural Resources, Mike Harris, the initiative is aimed at making it easier for families and friends to enjoy Ontario’s world-class lakes and rivers during the Canada Day celebrations.
The province says recreational fishing plays a major role in supporting local tourism and creating jobs, while also encouraging more people to experience the outdoors.
Important: Although a fishing licence is not required during the free fishing period, all conservation licence catch and size limits, fishing sanctuaries, and other fishing regulations still apply.
Will you be taking advantage of Ontario’s free fishing week?
