🇨🇦 A Canadian Town Just Gave Trees Legal Rights!

In a landmark decision, the small town of Terrasse-Vaudreuil, about 64 km west of Montreal, has officially recognized trees as living beings with legal rights.
The town unanimously passed a resolution declaring that every tree has:
🌱 The right to life
🌿 The right to natural growth
🌳 The right to remain whole and unharmed
🍃 The right to regenerate
By adopting the Universal Declaration of the Rights of the Tree, Terrasse-Vaudreuil has become one of the first communities in Canada to legally recognize trees as more than just property.
Supporters believe this bold move will strengthen environmental protection, encourage sustainable development, and remind people that nature deserves respect not just because it benefits us, but because it has intrinsic value.
Should more towns, cities, and countries give trees legal rights to better protect the environment, or do you think this goes too far?
