Viral Confession Backfires: UK-Based TikToker Loses Job After Shocking Admission

A UK-based Nigerian TikToker known as Jectimi is trending for all the wrong reasons after openly admitting in a viral video that he and his Ghanaian colleague lied about their truck-driving experience to land a high-paying job in the UK.
According to him, the job reportedly paid an impressive £350 for an 8 hour shift a figure that quickly caught people’s attention online. But what seemed like a bold confession for content soon turned into a costly mistake.
The video spread rapidly across social media, eventually reaching their employer. Within days, the company took action both Jectimi and his colleague were dismissed from their positions.
Lessons to take from this:
The internet never forgets what you post can come back to you.
Honesty in professional spaces is crucial, especially in jobs involving safety like truck driving.
Going viral isn’t always worth the consequences.
This situation has sparked conversations online about accountability, social media oversharing, and the risks people take for quick opportunities abroad.
What do you think was the company right to fire them, or was the punishment too harsh?
