U.S. Releases Updated List of 374 West Africans Marked for Deportation: Names and Photos Published

The United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has released an updated list of 374 West African nationals identified for deportation under its “Worst of the Worst” initiative.
According to the published figures:
🇳🇬 Nigeria – 124
🇱🇷 Liberia – 94
🇬🇭 Ghana – 32
🇸🇱 Sierra Leone – 26
🇨🇻 Cape Verde – 23
🇸🇳 Senegal – 19
🇨🇮 Côte d’Ivoire – 14
🇬🇲 The Gambia – 14
🇲🇷 Mauritania – 12
🇧🇫 Burkina Faso – 9
🇳🇪 Niger – 8
🇬🇳 Guinea – 6
🇹🇬 Togo – 6
🇲🇱 Mali – 5
🇬🇼 Guinea-Bissau – 1
🇧🇯 Benin – 1
The individuals on the list were identified by U.S. authorities in connection with various criminal convictions or immigration-related enforcement actions.
This development serves as a reminder that our actions abroad shape how the world views our communities. The overwhelming majority of Africans living in the United States and across the diaspora are hardworking, law-abiding people making positive contributions every day. Unfortunately, the actions of a few can affect public perception of many.
For those living abroad, this is a call to:
Respect the laws of your host country.
Protect your immigration status.
Avoid criminal activities and fraudulent schemes.
Be a positive ambassador for Africa wherever you live.
What are your thoughts on the U.S. publicly releasing the names and photos of deportees? Do you believe this approach promotes public safety, or does it go too far? Share your opinion respectfully below.
