This BBL story really disturbed me today.

I just watched a video about a Nigerian girl who reportedly passed away after a botched BBL surgery, and honestly it’s really traumatizing. I don’t think I’ll sleep well tonight. My heartfelt condolences to her family. Losing a young life like that is heartbreaking.

But it made me start asking a serious question. Why is BBL becoming such a big trend among some young women today?

Some people even say it has become very common in places like Lekki in Lagos Nigeria. I don’t know how true that is, but hearing things like that makes you wonder if it’s becoming a social pressure or status trend.

Since living in Canada, one thing I’ve noticed is that many women confidently walk around with their natural body shape. Slim, thick, petite, tall everyone just seems comfortable in their own skin.

It made me think,
When did natural bodies stop being enough? Social media can create a lot of pressure for people to look a certain way. But the truth is everyone must not be curvy. Your body shape does not define your value.

Health and life should always come before trends. Sometimes the most beautiful thing about a person is simply being comfortable with who they are naturally.

Do you think social media is putting too much pressure on people to change their bodies? If you had the means, would you change anything about your body?
