She Left Home to Pursue Her Dreams, But Never Got the Chance

This story about Mercy Yaaba Bredu, a Ghanaian first-class graduate, is heartbreaking.

Mercy travelled from Ghana to China on August 24 to begin a new chapter of her life and pursue her master’s degree.

Sadly, shortly after arriving in China, she reportedly collapsed at the airport and was rushed to the hospital. She passed away on August 26, just two days after leaving Ghana. 😢

What makes this even more painful is that Mercy was a promising young woman who had graduated with first-class honours and had secured scholarship opportunities to further her education.

She left home with dreams, plans and a future she was looking forward to. Sadly, she never got the opportunity to see those dreams come to fruition.

Life can be so unpredictable. One moment, we are making plans for tomorrow; the next, everything can change.

May God comfort her family, friends, classmates and everyone mourning this devastating loss.
May her soul rest in peace.
