Today is potluck day at my children’s school. They’re allowed to bring snacks and drinks to share with their classmates. This is something they do once in a while they give and they also receive.

I couldn’t help but remember our days back in Nigeria. I used to strictly tell them never to accept snacks from friends in school. And if they ever did, they must bring it home first so I could pray over it before they ate 😄.

Funny how some principles change with location.
Here in Canada, my children receive snacks and eat them right there in school. They only inform me when they get home and honestly, it doesn’t even give me cause for concern.

Maybe because there are no known allergies involved or maybe no superstitious fears here 😁 Or maybe I’ve just become more relaxed.
