Diaspora Life

One thing nobody told me about living in Canada.

I honestly thought once I arrived Canada, my skin would just be glowing and flawless 😅 After all no harsh sun, right?

But the reality?
Canada weather will humble you 😭 Yes, winter looks beautiful in pictures but it is very dry. It has a way of making your skin look dry if you dont moisturize well

The cream I used all my life back home suddenly stopped “working.” I started trying different products even bought some organic sets someone recommended.

Face soap, cleanser, body cream full package. But after just two weeks, my skin started reacting. Different colors, patches I had to stop everything immediately.

I went back to basics just simple moisturizer. Over time about a year, my skin slowly adjusted on its own.

And my hair? Not left out. My edges started disappearing I even had to cut my hair low.
Some people say it’s the water some say weather honestly, it’s a combination of both.

Living abroad will teach you patience even with your own body. If you’re a newcomer and your skin or hair is acting up, you’re not alone. Give your body time, keep it simple, and don’t rush to try everything at once.

Who else experienced this? What worked for you? Let’s help someone going through it right now 🙏🏾
