No Travel Agent Can Give You Visa

I just watched a video on Verydarkblackman page where two people shared how they were victims of visa fraud. One of them said he lost 4 million naira while the other lost ₦1.5 million and his international passport to a so-called visa agent for a Canadian visa. Honestly, I didn’t know whether to be shocked or deeply concerned.

The sad part?
If you ask them what type of visa they applied for, there’s a strong chance they don’t even know.

One of the fastest-growing businesses in Nigeria today is what many people call “visa agency.” Many people are cashing out from others’ desperation to travel.

Late last year, someone contacted me saying he runs a visa agency and wanted me to advertise his services for a commission. I declined immediately. That’s not what my page represents.

Let me say this clearly:
▪ No agent can “give” you a visa.
▪ No agent can guarantee approval.
Only the embassy or immigration authority decides.

Important things to know:
• There are different visa types visitor, study, work, permanent residence. Know what you’re applying for.
• Always apply through official government websites.
• Ensure your documents are genuine and complete.
• Anyone promising a “sure visa” or asking for large cash without proof is a red flag.
• Agents can only assist with guidance they cannot influence approval.

Please do your own research, ask questions, and apply the right way. Losing money to fraud is painful, but losing money and your travel dream is even worse.

If this post helps one person avoid being scammed, it’s worth sharing.
If you or someone you know has experienced visa fraud, share your story. Your experience could help someone else avoid the same mistake.
