Marriage Is More Than Financial Support

If someone lives abroad and wants to marry you, but the plan is for you to remain in your home country while they only come back a few times a year, please think carefully before saying yes.

Marriage is not only about financial provision. One important part of marriage is companionship, being there for each other, sharing everyday life, supporting one another and raising a family together.

Phone calls and occasional visits can help maintain a relationship, but they cannot completely replace the experience of having your spouse physically present in your daily life.

Before marriage, the arrangement may seem easy. But when children start coming, responsibilities increase, and life gets more demanding, the reality can feel very different.

Even if your spouse promises to provide everything financially, their presence also matter too. M0ney can pay bills, but it cannot replace a parent being there for everyday moments, challenges and family life.

So before entering a marriage that may involve long-term separation, have honest conversations about the plan, expectations, children, finances and most importantly when and how you will eventually live together.
