GHANAIAN-AMERICAN PROFESSOR MAKES HISTORY AT JOHNS HOPKINS UNIVERSITY

Another proud moment for Ghana, Africa and the African diaspora

Professor Yvonne Commodore-Mensah, a Ghanaian-American nurse scientist and global health researcher, has been installed as the M. Adelaide Nutting Endowed Chair at the prestigious Johns Hopkins School of Nursing in the United States.

The appointment is particularly significant because she is reportedly the first Black woman to hold this prestigious endowed chair.

A professor and cardiovascular health researcher, she has dedicated much of her work to improving healthcare, preventing heart disease and addressing health inequalities through research, education and global partnerships.

Beyond her academic achievements, she is also committed to strengthening nursing education and healthcare development in Ghana.

Her achievement is a wonderful example of African talent, dedication and excellence receiving recognition on the global stage.

Congratulations, Professor Yvonne Commodore-Mensah! Ghana, Africa and the diaspora have every reason to celebrate this milestone.

What an inspiration to the next generation of African nurses, researchers and future leaders.
