FROM THE STREETS OF LAGOS TO THE CHANEL RUNWAY IN PARIS

Meet Rachel Ojuromi, a Nigerian girl whose creativity took her from recreating Chanel-inspired looks on the streets of Lagos to walking the runway for the global luxury fashion house in Paris
Rachel and her friend, Debby Fasingha, created fashionable looks using thrift clothes and pieces they could find, turning everyday streets in Lagos into their own runway. Their creative videos caught the attention of Chanel’s creative director, Matthieu Blazy, and on October 5, 2026, Rachel made her runway debut at Chanel’s Spring/Summer 2027 show in Paris. What a remarkable journey
There are powerful lessons to learn from Rachel’s story:
• Start with what you have. You don’t need all the money, connections or perfect conditions to begin pursuing your dreams.
• Be creative and different. Sometimes, what makes you stand out is your ability to see opportunities where others see limitations.
• Consistency matters. Keep improving your skills and putting your work out there, even when recognition doesn’t come immediately.
• Your location doesn’t have to limit your vision. You can start anywhere, a small town or anywhere in the world and still reach an international audience.
Rachel’s story shiws that, the opportunity you’ve been waiting for begins with the work you decide to do today.
Never underestimate what you can achieve when you combine creativity, hard work, courage and persistence. Your big opportunity may come from somewhere you least expect
What lesson are you taking away from Rachel Ojuromi’s journey?
