FROM NIGERIA TO THE NBA! CONGRATULATIONS, UGONNA ONYENSO!

Ugonna Onyenso, a young Nigerian basketball star, has taken another giant step in his journey after being selected by the Houston Rockets in the NBA Draft. This is proof that talent, discipline, hard work, and perseverance can open doors to the biggest stages in the world.
Every time a Nigerian child succeeds on the global stage, it reminds us that greatness is not limited by where you were born, it is shaped by the opportunities, values, and support you receive.
This should also be a wake-up call for parents.
Not every child is destined to become a doctor, lawyer, or engineer. Some are gifted in sports, music, technology, arts, or other talents. As parents, let’s pay attention to what our children are naturally good at, encourage them, and provide the right guidance while instilling discipline, humility, respect, and a strong work ethic.
Talent may open the door, but good character keeps it open.
To every young Nigerian with a dream: keep working. Your background does not have to determine your future.
Congratulations, Ugonna Onyenso!
You have made Africa proud, inspired countless young people, and shown that dreams truly do come true with dedication.
