America No Longer Feels Welcoming: New Poll Shows Growing Fear Among Immigrants Under Trump’s Crackdown
A new national poll by the Associated Press-NORC has revealed a major shift in how people view the United States under President Donald Trump’s aggressive immigration policies.
According to the survey, most Americans now believe the U.S. is no longer the welcoming country it once was for immigrants.
The poll also found that many families are already feeling the impact of the administration’s immigration enforcement measures. About one-third of respondents said they or someone they personally know has been affected by the crackdown within the past year. Among Hispanic adults, that number rose to nearly 60%.
One of the most emotional findings from the report is that many immigrants and even legal residents now live with fear and uncertainty. Nearly half of Hispanic respondents said they have started carrying proof of citizenship or residency with them because they worry about being stopped, detained, or questioned by immigration officers.
Since returning to the White House, Trump has pushed forward with what he called the “largest deportation operation in U.S. history,” leading to heated debates across the country about immigration, national security, and human rights.
For many immigrants who once saw America as a land of opportunity, the atmosphere is beginning to feel very different.
