Affordable Food Is Coming to Toronto: But Will It Help?

Big move from the Toronto City Council as they’ve approved a proposal by Anthony Perruzza to open four city-run grocery stores.
The goal?
To help everyday Torontonians especially low-income earners buy good, affordable food without breaking the bank.
With grocery prices going up almost every week, many families are feeling the pressure. So this idea is meant to:
✔️ Reduce food costs
✔️ Support struggling households
✔️ Offer fair pricing outside of big grocery chains
But here’s the big question.
Will this actually make a real difference, or is it just a small fix to a bigger problem?
Because let’s be honest food inflation, rent, and bills are still rising.
Still, this could be a step in the right direction.
What do you think?
Would you shop at a government-run grocery store if it means saving money?
