South African Woman Arrested at Abuja Airport Over Alleged Drug Trafficking

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) says it has arrested a 38-year-old South African woman at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja after allegedly discovering 5.75kg of heroin concealed inside her luggage.
According to the agency, the suspect had just arrived in Nigeria on a Qatar Airways flight from Doha. NDLEA further alleged that she was travelling with her three-year-old son, whom investigators believe may have been used to reduce suspicion during airport screening.
The agency says the woman is currently in custody while investigations continue.
This case has once again sparked conversations about the lengths some criminal networks allegedly go to in transporting illegal drugs across international borders and the heartbreaking reality of children being caught up in such situations.
If the allegations are proven in court, it serves as another reminder that no one is above the law and that authorities remain vigilant in the fight against drug trafficking.
