🇨🇦 Ontario Just Opened a NEW Pathway to Permanent Residence!

Big news for foreign workers dreaming of becoming permanent residents in Canada!Ontario has officially launched its Ontario Workforce Priority Stream (OWPS), with the new pathway opening on August 4, 2026, under the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP). This marks one of the biggest changes to Ontario’s immigration system in years. The new stream is designed to help employers keep skilled talent while giving eligible foreign nationals a clearer route to permanent residence.Who can apply?
Foreign workers with a qualifying job offer from an eligible Ontario employer.
Workers across all NOC/TEER categories may be eligible if they meet the program requirements.
Eligible self-employed physicians can also apply without a job offer. The process starts with an employer registering the position through the OINP employer portal. Eligible candidates can then submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) and, if invited, apply for a provincial nomination. A successful nomination allows them to apply to the federal government for permanent residence, with the final decision made by IRCC. If you’ve been waiting for a new opportunity to become a permanent resident in Ontario, this could be the chance you’ve been hoping for.Would this new pathway make Ontario a more attractive destination than other Canadian provinces? Share your thoughts in the comments! 🇨🇦
