🇨🇦 Canada’s 2026 Census Begins — Households Face Up To $500 Fine for Failing to Participate

Statistics Canada has started sending census letters to households across the country, asking Canadians to complete their census forms before May 12.
The census takes place every five years and is mandatory for all households in Canada. According to officials, anyone who refuses to participate could face a fine of up to $500.
The information collected helps governments make important decisions on healthcare, housing, schools, transportation, immigration services, and community funding across the country.
The last national census was conducted in 2021, and now Canadians are once again being asked to take part in shaping the country’s future through the 2026 count.
