One thing Canada has taught me quickly is the power of skilled trades, especially mechanics.

Before you even see most mechanics here, you have to book an appointment. Some give you dates days away. Even on the appointment day, you still sit and wait for hours. That alone tells you something, there’s no shortage of work.

I drove my car in thinking it was just a minor fix. Nothing serious. The mechanic checked it and said the brake pads and caliper needed changing. Simple, right?
Then the bill came. $1,090.

Let’s just say, I haven’t fully recovered yet 😅
That’s how my new year started.

Moments like this really show how much skilled trades earn in Canada. These people are busy, in demand, and well paid.

If you’re planning to immigrate abroad, learning a skill is one of the smartest moves you can make. With the right trade, you may not even need to chase jobs the work will come to you.
