ONTARIO PAUSES OSAP PAYMENTS TO PRIVATE COLLEGES AMID AUDIT CONCERNS

Ontario has temporarily paused OSAP payments associated with private postsecondary institutions while the province investigates concerns identified during an ongoing audit.

According to the Ontario government, preliminary findings have raised concerns about student verification, course enrolment and outcomes, connections between some colleges and immigration services, and unusually high concentrations of OSAP applications from certain locations. The matter has also been referred to the Ontario Provincial Police for further investigation.
