Nigerian Researcher Chika Onochie Wins Up to $100,000 Research Award in Québec

Another beautiful achievement by a Nigerian making an impact in Canada. Chika Onochie, a Nigerian pharmacist and doctoral researcher at McGill University, has received a major Québec research award valued at up to CAD $100,000 for his doctoral research into male fertility.

His research is looking at molecular biomarkers that could provide additional information about sperm function and male fertility beyond what conventional semen analysis can show.

Onochie joined McGill University in 2023 to pursue a PhD in Pharmacology and has already contributed to peer-reviewed research on sperm function and male infertility.

From Nigeria to Canada, this is another example of the talent and excellence Africans continue to bring to the global stage.

Congratulations to Chika Onochie on this well-deserved recognition.
