There’s a situation trending online that caught my attention

A woman allegedly reported that her husband, who is a member of a State House of Assembly in Nigeria, had been abusing her. She reportedly went to the Legislative Wives Association, the group she belongs to, seeking support and intervention.

After the issue became public, the husband was reportedly suspended.

Now the woman has come out saying people are pushing the wrong narrative about her husband and her marriage. She says no marriage is perfect and has also said she is no longer a member of the Legislative Wives Association, claiming the association is part of those spreading the wrong story.

One thing I’ve learned is that people in difficult marriages often understand their reality better than outsiders. Some people will stay, and some people will leave when they feel ready.

Personally, I try not to rush to advise people in situations like this. They know when to leave anytime they’re ready. Every one deserves safety, respect, and peace in their home. It’s left for them to make their choices whether to leave or remain.

Have you ever advised someone about their relationship or marriage, only for the situation to turn around and you ended up looking like the bad person?
